Apple Launches iOS 13.7 with Contact Tracing Without an App

Apple has just released a new iOS update for all supported iPhones, and the number one highlight this time is the addition of the COVID-19 Exposure Notification system developed by the Cupertino-based tech giant in collaboration with Google.

iOS 13.7 is available for download today on iPhone 6s and newer.

First and foremost, let’s see what the exposure notifications are all about.

iOS 13.5, which was released during the summer, including the API that was required for developers to build their own contact tracing apps. In other words, devs could create apps that would help determine if someone was exposed to the new coronavirus and then alert users accordingly.

Apple and Google both made the API available on their platforms, allowing devs and organizations across the world to build such tools for their communities.
