Windows/Linux Dual Boot On 1 SSD with another SSD accessible to both

I have a new PC that comes with a 256 gb SSD, to which I want to allocate 128 gb of storage for both Windows and Linux, and I want to add an internal SSD that is accessible to both operating systems. My question is: if I add another internal SSD, will it be accessible to both the Linux and Windows operating systems? Are there any complications with doing this? I'm hoping it's as simple as using an external SSD and that both operating systems will have no problem reading from and writing to the extra SSD
