Thoughts on Ampere’s new Altra ARM CPUs?

They’re for server applications and use an LGA socket like Intel’s do, and apparently for a top of the line 80-core CPU it’ll run you around $4000, cheaper than a top of the line EPYC at $6000 and much cheaper than a top of the line $10000 Xeon.

I think it’s a step towards seeing ARM in desktop CPUs but not the holy grail.
