📚 Warning: Debian "Bullseye" will not be reproducible

Since a while now, the Debian project came out with one of the best bits of Linux distro engineering: Reproducible Builds (See: https://reproducible-builds.org/ for more info.)

The hard working individuals have devoted a lot of time to this, but it's still not enough. Recent status updates (eg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8M0FmZx8S8 ) have warned that the upcoming release will NOT be fully reproducible because there are still many open issues.

Please come together as a community and get this solved.

• This makes it incredibly hard for third-parties to "spike" your binaries with backdoors.
• It makes the Debian project more secure, since binary builds are currently done on individual developer machines (some could be compromised)!
• It puts pressure on the other distros to modernize this way too. This will prevent their secret build servers from being able to "spike" your builds too!
