Qualcomm Wins War Against MediaTek, Snapdragon 835 to Dominate the Market

Some of the best high-end smartphones available on the market have Qualcomm's chipsets at their cores. The trend will continue throughout the year as the US-based company's new Snapdragon 835 SoC (system-on-chip) will make its debut on the Galaxy S8 in late April.

But Qualcomm's success is not just tied to the Samsung Galaxy S8's launch, as the chipset maker landed orders from many smartphone makers in the last couple of months.

Digitimes report Qualcomm will be expanding Snapdragon 835's market share in the second and third quarters of the year, thus leaving no space to expand for MediaTek's high-end Helio X30 chipset.
