Ethernet on Ubuntu isn't working

So I decided today to get into linux and see how it is. I downloaded Ubuntu and my internet doesn't seem to be working. I have a dual OS system with windows to make that change easier and I tried the internet on my windows os and it was working like it did for the past few months but when I switch to Ubuntu it just doesn't work. I'm just looking for help since I've done all I could think of.
