First of all, feel free to repost this. None of it was my idea and I'm just trying to communicate what I was told elsewhere.
The past events on Reddit have made some people distrustful of site admins. In a few news/discussion posts there appeared comments remembering past issues with the platform. It was in one of these posts that one user suggested an alternative Reddit-like website: , so at least (as a Linux user) I can use that and hope other communities will eventually grow to be on par.
All I've learnt about the network in the short time I've been using it is that it's open-source, decentralized and federated with other similar sites. Makes sense that there are so many Linux users in there... Anyway, this is what I found thanks to another angry redditor like me, I think it was only my duty to spread the message to whoever would want to hear it.
PS.: if you do join the site (and lurk and upvote and post), you can select 'All' in the front page and sort by New. This will show you the entire traffic of posts across all federated instances in real time... which is not a lot, by the way, but it's enough for me.
