This year’s Google I/O brought lots of updates for Modern Android Development. Here are the top 3 things you should know:
#1: Lots of new Jetpack library releases!
In recent months, several Jetpack libraries reached stable, beta or were just launched in alpha. Here are some the highlights:

To find out more about what’s new, check out the and for a deep dive into Macrobenchmark: , for both Android Views and Compose; for database debugging use (KSP), now in alpha, provides a simplified compiler plugin API that can run up to 2 times faster than KAPT. Together with JetBrains, we’re addressing performance issues in the IDE and we’re seeing up to 20x faster auto-import suggestions. We added StateFlow support to DataBinding and new APIs for observing Flows in the UI without DataBinding.
