qubes/security setup

I have a fun/burner laptop, never bought it, never logged into real accounts, I HAVE connected it to my personal hotspot untill I decided that was bad aswell . Im Just doing dual boot win10/kali right now.. and I use anonsurf and whonix in virtualbox.

So Ive been reading about quebes and I am downloading it on the burner right now in kali. I want to switch kali for quebes. and if im understanding correctly its just a virtual box itself right? I wanted to add can I just run all my OS;s from there. Like windows and I was thinking of going with a more daily linux like ubuntu or mint. and also having whonix there for the extra security stuff.

I know os in virtual box go sloweer in kali, so I can imagine these would be slower? should I still keep a dual boot of another OS.

Also I want to just take kali and make it USB boot. And kali can start from new that dosent bother me. But I would like to move everything to my new linux distro.(mint or ubuntu??) DO I just move the root/user folder onto the new distro? In that case I would just put my root/user forler on a flashdrive and install quebes over kali partition and then add the folders later/
