The new Microsoft's linux distro is MIT licensed...?

If you didn't know about the news, yes, Microsoft has a new linux distro and it seems it's made for Azure and Microsoft Edge. It's called CBL-mariner (?). So... I took a look at the github repository and... It's MIT licensed?? Why and how?…

If you didn't know about the news, yes, Microsoft has a new linux distro and it seems it's made for Azure and Microsoft Edge. It's called CBL-mariner (?).

So... I took a look at the github repository and... It's MIT licensed?? Why and how?

Is there something tricky they did to make it MIT licensed? Or maybe a linux distro could be MIT licensed and somehow but I didn't know, but I have never heard about one and that seemed to me like a GPL violation.

Please give your thoughts and explanations, I am grateful!

And please, don't say you "use CBL-mariner btw", that hurts... Or do it, whatever, I am not your dad lmao.
