Requesting assistance with installing Linux (or SSHing into the current install) on a Revolution Smart Toaster.

I previously posted for help, but due to a technicality (the post was a picture of the toaster, my request for help was in the comments) the thread was removed.

I would like to first:

• Figure out how to open the toaster
• See if the toaster is running Linux and if so, figure out how to access the install

I would ultimately like:

• Access to the IR sensors
• Add custom toast settings for thick bread, wheat bread, rye bread, etc.

There is not a large toaster modding community and in fact, none seems to exist at all.

So this post is about:

1) How to get into the toaster to access the board? 2) How to get any drivers from the current system to reverse engineer and mainline into the Linux kernel? 3) How to then flash a custom kernel with performance optimizations (to deal with UI lag) along with add network connectivity to SSH into it for the process of manual bread settings.

I am on the quest for the PERFECT slice of toast. This toaster so far is the best experience of any, but it needs to be improved.
