Way for linux server to transfer files to internal drive then external drive?

I know this sounds stupid and or complicated but hear me out.

I have a server that has a 256gb internal m.2 ssd. I wanna make it so when I transfer files it shows im transferring to the external drive while its actually going to the C drive and then later on to the D drive.

the reason im doing is because the drive im running is a slow pathetic 5400 RPM Drive and the speeds of that are 100mpbs or so.

also while doing this I still want it to show as the D Drive but recent frequently assessed files on the SSD

(Also yes I know this would cause strain and wear on the SSD)
