So I had spend like 30 mins figuring out whats going wrong setting up my Evoluent Mouse ...
The settings were simple I have found them in the web and adjust it for my needs
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "EvoluentVV"
MatchUSBID "1a7c:0191"
#3 and 2, and 9 and 10 swapped
Option "ButtonMapping" "1 3 3 4 5 6 7 9 2 8 11 12 13 14"
EndSection
So I have used
sudo gedit /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-evoluent.conf
just to copy paste but the pc was not booting
I have used kate, notepadqq, nano etc but my pc was not booting...
I had to delete everytime the new file so as to boot again
rm /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-evoluent.conf
I was like WTF is going on is just a copy/paste
I one again paste it to a new file using nano restart the pc not booting...
booting again on terminal going to nano and finding the file like this
Section ■InputClass■
Identifier ■EvoluentVV■
MatchUSBID ■1a7c:0191■
#3 and 2, and 9 and 10 swapped
Option ■ButtonMapping■ ■1 3 3 4 5 6 7 9 2 8 11 12 13 14■
EndSection
After replacing with nano the ■ with " it worked just fine
As far as I remember the same happened when I have copy paste a text for udev rules and nothing was working....
So is there any tool to use to copy paste things without causing such issues???
