Credit Card-Sized Light Phone is Available for Pre-Order

A few years ago, a Kickstarter project revealed a new phone that only offers basic functionality in a size that’s comparable to that of a credit card. Now it seems that pre-orders for the Light Phone went live.  

The device works independently of your phone plan, but the phone’s software platform does allow you to make and receive calls using your current phone number. The Light Phone works with a 2G nano SIM card or customers can pay for a monthly service that costs $5 per month in the US.

Sadly, international users only have the option of using their own SIM card with the device, as services are offered only in the US. Customers who use the SIM should follow the steps for setting up dial contacts using the desktop app provided with the Light Phone.



There’s not much to be said about the device’s specs, it comes with a Qualcomm 8208 processor and an OLED display. It also has a micro USB port and its price is $150. The
