Microsoft Goes After Apple, Snapchat with Major Skype Update 

Microsoft has just announced a major overhaul of Skype, as it tries to build a better rival for popular instant messaging solutions like iMessage, Snapchat, and WhatsApp. 

Baptized "the next generation of Skype," the application is getting features that are clearly inspired from competitors, including a so-called Highlights feature very similar to Snapchat's stories.
