📚 Needing an os for runnimg steam on a hp stream

Hi guys so I have zero Linux knowledge but needing an os for a hp stream with a 32 GB emmc harddrive for the purpose of playing old and relatively easy to run games via steam, I was thinking either xubuntu/mint mate or chrome OS flex but wanted to check if anyone had any input on the subject before I go ahead. The laptop has a micro SD card slot so that would be used to store games as I assume any os would be taking up the majority of the internal drive.
