Canon EOS C300 Mark II and Mark II PL Cameras Get Firmware 1.0.8.1.00

Canon has announced the availability of a new firmware update targeted at its EOS C300 Mark II and EOS C300 Mark II PL Cinema Cameras, namely version 1.0.8.1.00, which removes the horizontal-line noise spotted in 4K RAW footage output from the REC OUT and/or MON terminals.

In terms of installation, first initialize a compatible memory card using the camera’s setup menu, get and extract the appropriate downloadable archive for your device, and copy the firmware file from within the created folder onto the newly prepared SD card.

Afterward, connect the camera with the power adapter to benefit from a stable power source, insert the card into the device while it’s powered off, and turn on the EOS unit.

Now, go to Menu → Other Functions → Firmware, select “Ok” at the next confirmation screen to initiate the upgrade, and allow the camera to apply the new firmware (it should take about 5 minutes to complete).
