Linux server statistic analysis program

Hello Linux community! My plan is to create my own statistic analysis program for my Linux server which is hosted by AWS Lightsail. My question is how can I detect on my Linux server when someone visits my website? The website is hosted on said linux server. I want to then upload those stats to an SQL or other database where I can then grab that stat data to use on a statistics website for ease of readability.

What is my end goal?
-- If what I previously mentioned is not clear enough then my goal is to have a small web page that only I can access through my publicly available website by means of an Admin login.

I am aware of the challenges ahead of me, despite that fact I still want to push through with making my own custom server statistic analysis program.
