Leica Rolls Out New Firmware for Its M10 Cameras - Get Version 1.7.4.0

Leica has rolled out new firmware packages targeted at its M10 cameras, which add support for several memory cards with up to 512 GB capacity and improves compatibility with currently supported SD cards.

However, even though Leica’s M10 unit can use new SDHC/SDXC cards, the producer recommends installing cards with 80MB/s write speeds or higher so that performance isn’t affected. Also, make sure to insert only UHS-I cards instead of UHS-II (even though it is compatible, the M10 cannot use the full UHS-II speed).

Therefore, if you intend to apply the present version, save and unzip the downloadable file, format a memory card using the camera, and copy the archive content in the card’s root folder.

Afterward, make sure your imaging device benefits from a fully charged battery, turn the unit off, connect the newly-prepared SD card, and power on the camera while pressing and holding Video Release button.
