Windows 10 Turns 2 as Redstone 3 Is Almost Ready

Windows 10 has turned 2 on July 29, and Microsoft is currently working on finalizing another major OS update projected to go live in September.

Windows 10 was officially launched on July 29, 2015 as one of the biggest overhauls of Microsoft’s desktop operating system, being offered as a free upgrade to Windows 7 and 8.1 users if the install was performed in the first 12 months after the unveiling.

According to third-party market share data, Windows 10 currently has a share of 26.8 percent, while Windows 7 continues to be the leader with 49.04 percent. Windows XP remains the third most-used desktop OS with 6.94 percent.

Microsoft has already released two major OS updates for Windows 10 since its July 2015 launch, namely the Anniversary Update and the Creators Update, plus a smaller one called November Update.
