Forgive the noob question. I've been asked to run a report on a large number of *nix (mostly linux) to identify servers from workstations (user GUI desktops).

Do you have any recommendations on what to look for in the filesystem, installed packages or specific item that may be mostly common way to identify if there is indeed GUI/X11 installed on the system outside of very specific gnome/kde/xfce ones perhaps there is a few common libraries, packages or settings that are used only when a linux device is anything other than a terminal?
