The current threat landscape is an aberration that we should not accept as somehow normal. Ransomware, disruption and data theft are not the inevitable result of allowing the evil side of humanity access to networked computers. We can’t expect to change human nature, but we can aspire to a world free from the burden of cyber insecurity. What are the steps required to engineer this, and what can we reasonably expect to achieve?
