📚 Interest/feasibility of MBP 2016+ WiFi driver development?

Hi folks, I wanted to gauge interest and/or difficulty in writing some drivers for the Macbook Pro (retina 2016+) laptops. I'm a physicist by training but do lots of software development as part of my job. Written a couple kernel modules but never gotten into driver development. I'm very comfortable in C but writing a driver in Rust would be cool too!

From the few times I've tried to put 22.04 on my 2016 MBP, the wifi has never really worked. I was wondering if folks have info on mailing lists or other forums where people have been working on this, or info on even where to start in this process.

Seems like a useful thing to have. The MBPs from this era are starting to die because of keyboard design flaws but most of the hardware is still good. Might be useful for a VPN or some other kind of headless setup.
