Qt seems to be lesser used on the Linux desktop (as more native apps use GTK rather than Qt on Linux desktop) but when one needs to make a cross platform apps, it always tends to be in Qt.
For example (excluding cross-platform KDE apps) :
- Wireshark (which switched from GTK to Qt)
- VLC media player
- Subsurface (also switched from GTK to Qt)
GTK tries to not be Linux-exclusive, and apps like GIMP are available on Windows and macOS. So, what makes GTK worse for cross-platform, or what makes Qt less bad for cross-platform apps?
