As the author of this novel, I feel compelled to share my own experiences with love and the trials I've faced. These personal incidents have left a lasting impact on my understanding of love's complexities.
My journey into the realm of love began in the 8th grade when I experienced my first crush. Looking back, I realize that this was likely a result of the hormonal changes that accompany that age. Yet, it was a profound attraction for me, one filled with sweet, unforgettable moments. I deeply loved that girl at the time, but it was one-sided love, a love that I soon learned doesn't always find its way into reality.
In the 10th grade, at the age of 17, I fell for another girl. She was smart and sensitive, which drew me in. It, too, turned out to be one-sided love. I didn't succeed in making her mine.
However, during the second year of my Diploma in Computer Engineering, I encountered a sweet girl who became my first successful love story. We shared wonderful moments for about six or seven months. Sadly, toxicity crept into our relationship. I desperately sought ways to mend the relationship without hurting her. After some time, I had to make the painful decision to end the relationship, which left me with sleepless nights and the heartache of a breakup.
To make matters even more challenging, she was in the same academic program, and I had to see her daily. Facing someone you've broken up with on a daily basis is an emotionally daunting experience.
Then, about a year and a half later, at my village festival, I had an encounter with my last love. It was love at first sight, a calling from the heart. It, too, was one-sided love, but it left an indelible mark on me. For the next two years, I loved her deeply. Her name and her presence filled my every day, from morning to night.
Confronting my fear of losing her, I gathered the courage to express my feelings to her via a social media platform. It was a heartfelt message, an expression of my thoughts.
I waited anxiously for her response, but to my dismay, I was unfollowed without any reply. It shattered my self-confidence and optimism, and I spent some nights in tears.
Yet, despite the rejection, I can't forget her. I still pray for her happiness and for the chance to have her in my life. While I respect her decisions and understand that she may have her own plans, dreams, and perhaps even a relationship, the lack of a response has been painful.
Motivated by my experience, I decided to channel my emotions and write my sad story as a novel, in the hope that others who have faced similar pain might find healing and solace in my words.
From my perspective, love is a unique feeling. People often mistake attraction for love, but love is much more. It's an emotion that inspires us to cherish the presence of the person we adore in every moment of our lives. I'm content to love her even though I can't be with her, and I only wish to see her happy.
True love goes beyond expectations and conditions, as it arises from the selfless nature of the soul. Love should not be merely transactional, with the expectation of receiving something in return. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna emphasizes the importance of selfless love, stating, "One who performs his duty without attachment, surrendering the results unto the Supreme Lord, is unaffected by sinful action, as the lotus leaf is untouched by water" (Bhagavad Gita 5.10).
If you are loving someone with the understanding that they may not reciprocate, it can indeed be seen as true love. To love unconditionally means offering love freely, without expecting anything in return. It is a divine quality that surpasses the limitations of the material world and connects us with the eternal love of the Supreme.
Embrace such selfless love, and let it flow from your heart without reservation. Remember, true love is ultimately aimed at attaining union with the Divine, transcending the boundaries of worldly attachments.
