Hi guys! Just wanted to share this quick bit: for a few months now I've been running my Fedora KDE install on an external USB NVME 1TB drive, while switching between my desktop and my laptop as I'm home or outside.
At first i was doing this just for a quick test, but it ended up working so seamlessly i just stuck with it: All my apps, steam, everything work just fine, boot times are super fast, and even the displays are properly memorized.
All i know is that on Windows when i tried this it took forever as it "re-initializes hardware", not to speak of the "Activate Windows" issue that usually happens when you switch Windows between machines.
My setup probably works great because both my laptop and desktop have AMD GPUs.
Anyone else have experience with a setup similar to this?
How do you usually sync up your laptop and desktop?
