Will Wayland ever support NVIDIA hybrid laptops (with an external monitor)?

My monitor (HDMI port only) connects directly into my laptops GPU (from what I understand), and that is causing a lot of issues with Wayland on my external monitor since everything on the monitor now gets rendered through my NVIDIA GPU.

This causes Wayland to be borderline unusable: Weird glitches, horrendous performance, sometimes just not working, etc...

And I have seen quite the amount of people with roughly the same setup as mine complain about this issue, so I am just wondering if this is an issue that will ever be resolved? I would really really love to use Wayland, but x11 seems to be my only choice currently.
