The Irony of a Windows user's password (and false sense of security)

I tend to dual boot on laptops using an external SSD. I find it hilariously easy to access Windows user files whenever I do boot via Linux.

Really now, why is it so easy to do this? What's the point of a Windows user's password if other users can easily access a Windows NTFS formatted drive?

Unless a drive is password encrypted, almost any data is accessible.
