Fresh start and some love from a Newbie

Hey, i've been around linux for a while but never really a consistent user, i often switched back to Windows.

I've tried a lot of distros and then settled for an Arch based distro which i really enjoyed. Mainly the convenience of the AUR that is. But using an Arch based distro also potentially comes with more trouble. So today after a while back on windows i decided to download Linux Mint. I think that maybe one of the issues i have is that always try to learn the hardest stuff first, so it makes the easy stuff... easier. It absolutely doesn't apply when it comes to Linux world and i was way over my head with arch. I did manage to do stuff like setting up a single gpu passthrough and got games to run, but without the great tutorials people provide and put time into id not have managed that!

So that's the main thing i appreciate, the community. Sure some are super elitist and come off as rude, but what counts is that people share knowledge here and i appreciate being shit talked by meganerd300 while he explains me how to do things. :-) Doesn't make shit talking okay but eh, that's a good trade and who said that knowledge comes to you easily? Most of you guys are friendly and just happy that people choose Linux, because you believe in it and the philosophy behind it. I never felt stupid when i asked questions, because unlike meganerd300, you don't feel the need to make others feel stupid and i thank you for that! :-)

So i'm going to do a complete reset and re-start my Linux experience on the easiest level, because i LOVE Linux and i want to learn it properly. I will properly pop in here and ask stuff, but not after i tried figuring it out myself, because i think that's what someone owes someone before asking them a question. People essentially spend their time helping on here and time is valuable. So id love to see this from other newbies as well, sometimes i scroll through linux subs and want to face palm, not because the question is stupid but because there was zero effort put in by the asker to fix their stuff themselves and that is rude! So fellow noobs, if you want to learn linux, try!
