First by new I mean like maybe a year old.
I’m planning on buying a newer laptop soon. I’ve been looking at options mainly for build quality. I know that it’s a risky practice which is why this is my question:
What would be the best approach to attempt to install a certain Distro onto a new laptop while being able to return it if it doesn’t work?
My current ideas are partitioning the drive to attempt to dual boot or wiping the OS and installing Linux and in the event of a failure just reinstalling windows.
Just wanting to know if any of you have tried doing something like this. I know that safe practice is normally to aim for older hardware as it’s the most likely to be supported. But I really want my next laptop to be a higher quality (in terms of build) without needing to be forced to use Windows since I’ve been daily driving Fedora KDE Plasma for a while now.
