Professional : Pretty eventful day. Had a meeting to catch up with some folks about a new service that should be made generally available soon. Then there was a workshop that I signed up to help out with to moderate and help answer any questions people may have. I got on a quick call with a team member to help them with some CSS. haha Spent the rest of the work day wrangling with YAML, GitHub Actions and bash scripts. haha Never really worked with any of them before. Actually made some progress. I'm piecing things together because I couldn't find a good example for the thing I'm trying to accomplish. I think it's pretty niche to just what I'm working on.
Personal : Went through tracks for the radio show. Spent the rest of the night agonizing over what I would purchase from the 3D printer. I was looking through the catalog at the different types of filaments, bulk discounts, other sale items, watching videos reviews of things. I finally got my list together and actually filled my cart so that I would just need to add the newly released items and checkout quickly before things sold out. I even stayed up past midnight just in case they updated the site. haha.
Something made me get up earlier than normal this morning and to check the 3D printer site to see if it was updated with the new items. Sure enough it was. I took a look at the new items and they were pretty much what I thought they would be after reading the descriptions. Added them to the cart and made my purchases. I debated right before hitting the purchase button if I should wait till next month for the last couple of days for the sale to order, but I figured I would run the chance of them selling out and taking a long time to get me the items and I would lose a bunch of learning and prototyping time. I'm hoping to hit the ground running in 2025. Basically tinker during December and see what I can feasibly accomplish now to start pushing in the new year. I've come up with a couple of more ideas today. Going to work on the radio show. I'm thinking I'll work on the GitHub Actions stuff for work since I've got a momentum going and finish it up so I can move on to something else tomorrow. I think I'm pretty close.
