Probably with my next computer. My current one is a laggy mess.
I hate Windows. The main advantage to Windows to me is that I open my computer and Windows is on it without me having to do anything. Otherwise I hate Windows and would never use it with all the frustrations it adds to my life. I hate going out of my way to do things; things like installing Linux.
My needs in a machine are not complex. I use reddit, tumblr, youtube, anki, and scrivener. I like OneNote too but I'm willing to switch.
I like it when my machine turns on and does what I tell it to while introducing as few complications as possible to the very few and very simple things I need of it. I don't have any interest in computer programming.
I tried to use Linux back in like 2008 or so, but I found it very complicated and unintuitive. It felt like an incomplete beta of an operating system. I don't want to go into the command line ever. I require a simple click-based interface.
I understand that there are many kinds of Linux, with varying levels of complexity. What is the simplest and most effective one for my needs?
