I have Ubunto studio 24.04.1 LTS installed and just swapped video cards to a NVIDIA Quadro K2200 4GB, last night on my home PC. I used the sudo ubuntu-drivers --gpgpu install command to automatically find the driver.
The PC boots fine usually but other times has a black screen. Also I went to wake it up this morning and it had a black screen. Restarting the pc fixed the problem.
I ran the mesa utilis and was getting results of 298-302 fps in 5 seconds which = 60 fps which = my monitor refresh rate. That result seemed fine.
I need to troubleshoot this when I get home tonight to find out if the used card I purchased is faulty since I may need to return it.
I'll check and make sure the driver is 550.142 per the nvidia website. (I didn't look last night)
What else should I check? Is there a way to stress test the card and make sure it works properly. I'm confused why it's been inconsistent.
