I am surprised none of the distros making a Linux OS have joined together to build a proper music player.

I understand in general computing is moving away from local storage and local libraries, and tons of people are happy using Spotify to listen to music - but some of us still collect our music on computers. And I would have thought that as computing is dumbed down or even disappearing, Linux of all places would be catering to the people who still enjoy computers. But the disconnect in there being no good music player on the Linux system is surprising!

To be fair, there isn't multiple alternatives on Windows. For the most part everyone agrees MusicBee is the best. But I am just surprised there's never been a movement or a decision to replicate or port MusicBee natively to Linux. I know someone will say "do it yourself", but if the entirety of Linux is relying on me we're in trouble.

Music Playback is a basic function of computing. The entire modern technological age is based on a portable MP3 Playback device. I am surprised Linux has never taken it seriously. Is there any way to get one of the larger distros to take notice? Any music players for Linux are either 1) look extremely outdated or 2) have been discontinued - almost always both. I think a distro-level solution is the best bet. How do I make enough noise to get that into discussions? It is something that is preventing me from moving full-time to Linux.
