I Built a Free Streaming Site for Movies, Anime & Cartoons — Meet "Option" 🎬



Hey everyone 👋



I'm Jayaditya, and I recently built a streaming website called Option that brings together movies, TV shows, anime, and cartoons — all in one place, with a smooth UI and no ads or signups.

💡 Why I Built This



It started when I wanted a clean, easy way to watch anime without bouncing between sketchy websites.



From there, the idea grew — what if I could build a place to watch everything I like, with a smooth user experience?



So I made it happen.



This project also means a lot to me personally — I built it as a tribute to someone I really admire: Sireesha. Her presence and inspiration pushed me to finish this and go beyond my limits.









⚙️ Tech Stack





  • React + Vite for blazing-fast performance


  • Tailwind CSS + Shadcn UI for clean, responsive UI


  • TMDB API to fetch all movie/show metadata


  • Vidlink iframe for streaming player


  • Cloudflare Workers to bypass TMDB's regional restrictions

  • Hosted on Vercel









🚀 What's Next




  • Add Watchlist & Favourites

  • Better filters for anime, movies, genres

  • Login/auth support (maybe Supabase?)






This was my first full-stack side project — and I learned a ton about APIs, UI/UX, and deploying real-world apps. I'd love any feedback, and if you're working on something similar, let's connect.
