🌱 What is MERN?

MERN = MongoDB + Express.js + React.js + Node.js

Each part of the stack plays a role:

  MongoDB: A NoSQL database to store data like JSON


• 
  Express.js: Web server that runs in Node


• 
  React.js: Frontend UI framework


• 
  Node.js: Runtime for executing JavaScript on the backend

In short: It’s a full JavaScript-based stack from front to back.

🛠 Project Example: Build a “Notes App” 📝

Yes, something practical — a CRUD-based Notes App.

Features:

• Add a note


• View notes


• Delete a note


• All data saved to MongoDB

You’ll create:

• ✅ A backend API using Express and MongoDB


• ✅ A frontend UI in React using Axios to talk to the backend

🧱 Folder Structure

This separation helps mimic how real-world apps are deployed (e.g., frontend on Vercel, backend on Render/Railway).

💾 Backend Setup (Express + MongoDB)

Technologies:

• Node.js


• Express.js


• MongoDB with Mongoose


• CORS for cross-origin requests


• dotenv for environment variables

📌 You’ll create a REST API with:

• GET /notes


• POST /notes


• DELETE /notes/:id

You’ll also connect to MongoDB via mongoose.connect() using .env file.

🎨 Frontend Setup (React)

React app will have:

• List of all notes


• "Delete" button for each note
