Apple Intelligence's future, iPhone 17 rumors, and more on the AppleInsider Podcast

A fifth developer beta is out for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, while the new iPhone 17 launch date has leaked, and Apple tells its staff it's serious about AI, on the AppleInsider Podcast.


With its fifth developer beta — and the public betas now in full swing too — Apple is refining iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe. But those refinements seem to include going back and forth on some elements of its new Liquid Glass design, while in the case of the camera app, there is definite capitulation to complainers.

There continue to be plenty of complainers about Apple Intelligence, too, but this week Apple held a rare company meeting that saw Tim Cook making some encouraging points about the company and the future of AI. And Perplexity demonstrated why Apple's stance on privacy is not binding its hands, it's going to make Apple Intelligence the leader in AI. Eventually.
