I built WALinkPreviewSpoofer - a research script that attempts to spoof WhatsApp Web link preview title & description

(research-only)

Hey everyone - quick one. I hooked into WhatsApp Web’s send flow and made a small script that attempts to replace a link preview’s title and description right before a message is sent.

Repo: https://github.com/yanoshercohen/WALinkPreviewSpoofer

Quick notes:

  • Paste into the browser console on WhatsApp Web and send a message with a URL.
  • It only changes the preview text client-side - the link itself stays the same.
