My limited understanding of Windows is that if you want to install a software, then you must ALSO install ALL of the dependencies (I think in Windows this is called run times) that are needed to make that software work.
I believe that means you have duplicate run times for different software installs.
Enter Snaps. Containerised packaged software which contain their own dependencies.
How is that any better than Windows, a system we are trying to beat?
