Liberty Media CEO Says Apple Will Stay Active in Pursuing F1 Rights

Liberty Media CEO Derek Chang says Apple plans to stay deeply involved in Formula 1 coverage, and the partnership already shows signs of long-term ambition. During his appearance on CNBC’s Money Movers with Sara Eisen, Chang explained how the media landscape continues to shift. He linked this change to Apple’s exclusive U.S. streaming rights deal and its impact on how audiences experience F1. “It’s not just about what happens in a one and a half hour broadcast window during a Sunday race, but being sort of always on, always present,” Chang said, while noting how technology keeps expanding the reach of the sport.



He also praised Apple’s role in improving content quality and fan engagement. According to Derek Chang, Apple’s technology approach adds depth to the viewing experience and strengthens the sport’s global image. “Apple will really enhance the product and therefore the content, and the whole experience that I think will just continue to drive the brand and drive the awareness of the sport,” he told Sara Eisen on the same CNBC segment.
