A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.4.6. Affected is the function dbAllocDmapLev of the file fs/jfs/jfs_dmap.c of the component fs. Performing manipulation of the argument leafidx results in improper validation of array index.

This vulnerability was named CVE-2023-53485. The attack needs to be approached within the local network. There is no available exploit.

It is advisable to upgrade the affected component.
