Are there any Linux distributions left that target glibc 2.11 or older, and that are still maintained? I'm asking this out of curiousity, as well as an extreme attention to portability for my Linux applications.
From a brief survey of distributions, most things like Debian, Arch, and Slackware target glibc 2.24 or similar. RHEL7 appears to be one of the few remaining distributions to target glibc 2.17, and RHEL6 targets 2.12.
If someone can point out other distributions that do rely on glibc 2.12, 2.11, or earlier, then I can think about how to backport my applications for those systems. Otherwise, I guess it's safe to mostly target 2.24, and 2.17 for RHEL's. That would give me a better sense of where to focus my efforts for software portability.
