Meta Quest 3S and linux

Has anyone here managed to make a VR headset, specifically the Meta Quest 3S like my son uses, to work with a Linux computer? I've tried a few things like using Steam Beta software, but always hit a wall with graphics drivers. My suggestion to him was to wait for the Valve VR system to come out, and ditch the MQ devices altogether, he might be able to sell the gear to help pay for a new Valve set up. But I said I'd ask here, so anything else I can try?
