Weeks of nightmares followed. Anxiety at bedtime. Questions I wasn't ready to answer.

That's when it hit me: AI isn't built for children.

The Problem Nobody Was Solving

Every major AI assistant is designed for adults. When companies add "kid safety," they bolt on content filters after the fact. But filtering adult AI isn't the same as building for kids from the ground up.

Children need:

• Age-appropriate language (not just censored adult language)

• Developmentally suitable responses (a 5-year-old and a 12-year-old need different answers)

• Encouraging, educational interactions (not just "safe" ones)

• Parental visibility into what's being said

So I Built Askie

Askie (https://kidsai.app) is an AI voice chat and art creation app designed specifically for children ages 4-15. It's not ChatGPT with a filter. It's a completely different experience.
