iOS 26.3 Keyboard Issues: What’s Fixed and What’s Not

Since the original iOS 26 launch, users have reported all sorts of weird typing behavior, such as letters that don’t match the keys you press, laggy response, weird autocorrect, and even visual glitches with how the keyboard looks or shifts around the screen.



iOS 26.3 does not appear to fix the keyboard issues that have bugged many users. There’s no mention in Apple’s official notes about addressing widespread keyboard issues, and users on forums and Reddit are still reporting problems after updating to 26.3. People are seeing lag when the keyboard appears and disappears, and some say the keyboard still behaves unpredictably across different apps.

What You Can Do Right Now



While we wait for Apple to actually fix the bugs in a future update, there are a few practical things you can try that help for many people:



1. Restart and reset



Sometimes a fresh restart clears temporary glitches. A force restart can help even more. It’s old-school, but it often fixes slow responses and freezes.



2. Turn off features that can make typing worse



Several users have found that disabling predictive or swipe typing improves accuracy. If the keyboard is trying to guess while you type, that can make lag feel worse or cause mismatches.




Open Settings.



Tap General.



Tap Keyboard.



Find Predictive text and toggle it off.



Then look for Slide to Type and toggle it off as well.

3. Reset the keyboard dictionary



If autocorrect seems wildly off, resetting the keyboard dictionary in Settings can clear out bad learned data and improve predictiveness.

4. Try a third-party keyboard or switch back to Apple’s default
