Apple Event Day 2: Five MacBook Variants Expected to Debut

Apple is preparing to unveil a lot of MacBooks this week after already introducing the iPhone 17e and a refreshed iPad Air, and the focus now shifts firmly to new laptops expected on Tuesday and Wednesday. The company has described this as a big week ahead, and all signs point to multiple MacBook announcements across two days.



The most likely updates include new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models powered by the M5 chip, along with higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. In addition, Apple is expected to introduce a lower-cost MacBook that runs on the A18 Pro chip, marking a notable shift toward an iPhone-grade processor in a Mac notebook.



Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman wrote on X:




"Obviously knocking out the iPad and iPhone in the same morning means there’s a ton left for Tuesday and Wednesday. A lot of MacBooks."




He also reported that Apple has been planning to introduce new laptops this week, including its first entry-level MacBook with an iPhone-grade chip.

Apple will cap off the announcements with an “Apple Experience” event in New York, London, and Shanghai at 9 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday. Invited journalists and creators will get hands-on access to the new products.



Meanwhile, other rumored devices such as updated Apple TV and HomePod mini models remain absent from this week’s lineup. There is also no clear sign of a new entry-level iPad with Apple Intelligence support. Still, with “a lot of MacBooks” on deck, this week centers firmly on Apple’s laptop strategy.
