Step 1: Create Your Affiliate Program in Creem
Log into your Creem dashboard and navigate to:
Growth → Affiliate Hub

If it's your first time, you'll land on the program creation wizard. Click to create your program and fill in the details.
Program Name
This is how your program appears to affiliates. Keep it clean and on-brand.
Website URL
This is where affiliate traffic lands. Use your main landing page or your highest-converting page — not your homepage if you have something better.
Description
Think of this as your pitch to potential affiliates. Answer two things clearly:
- What does your product do?
- What do they earn for promoting it?
Example:
Earn 30% commission for every customer you refer to [Your Product] — the easiest way for indie developers to accept payments globally.
The better your description, the better quality affiliates you'll attract. Don't skip this.
Step 2: Configure Your Slug and Commission Rate
After clicking Next, you'll set up how your program actually works.
Program Slug
Your slug powers every referral link your affiliates share. For example, if your slug is yourproduct, affiliate links will look like:
?ref=yourproduct
Keep it short, readable, and consistent with your brand.
Commission Rate
This is the percentage of each sale you pay to affiliates. For SaaS, the typical range is 20% to 30%. If you're early-stage and want to attract higher-quality affiliates faster, consider starting at the higher end — you can always adjust later.
Once you're happy with the settings, click Create Program.
Your affiliate program is now live. No integrations needed. No extra tools.
Step 3: Understanding Your Affiliate Hub Dashboard
Once your program is created, you'll land on the Affiliate Hub dashboard. This is your command center for tracking everything.
Here's what you can monitor:
Revenue — Total revenue generated through affiliate referrals
Unique Leads — Unique visitors coming from affiliate links
Total Clicks — All clicks across all affiliate links
Checkouts Created — Checkout sessions started by referred visitors
Conversion Rate — The percentage of leads that become paying customers
Affiliates — Number of active partners in your program
It'll be empty at first — but once affiliates start sharing, this is where everything compounds.
Step 4: Invite Your First Affiliates
From the Affiliate Hub, click Invite Partner.
You'll need to enter:
- Their email address
- Their name
- Click Send Invite
Creem handles the entire email flow automatically. The affiliate receives an invitation with a link to join your program, and their invite will show as "Pending" in your Partners list until they accept.
You don't need to set up email sequences or manage this manually — it's all handled out of the box.

Step 5: What Your Affiliate Sees
Once invited, your affiliate joins through the dedicated affiliate portal at:
affiliates.creem.io
They can sign in using Google or a magic link sent to the email you invited them with.
Inside their dashboard, they get a full view of their performance:
- Their unique referral link to share
Revenue earned from referrals
Customers referred
Total clicks on their links- Conversion rate
- A 30-day commission chart showing earnings over time
Their referral link is their main tool. Every click, lead, and sale is tracked through it automatically.
Step 6: How Affiliate Tracking Works
Each affiliate gets a unique referral link that looks like this:

When someone clicks that link, here's what happens:
- Creem tracks which affiliate referred the visitor
- The user is redirected to your website
- A cookie is stored in their browser
If the user makes a purchase within the cookie window (typically 30–90 days, set by you), the affiliate gets credited for that sale — automatically.
This means affiliates don't need to worry about instant conversions. If someone clicks their link today, browses around, and comes back three weeks later to buy, the commission still applies.
Step 7: How Payouts Work
Affiliates can track their earnings directly from their dashboard under the Balance page, which shows three states:
Available Balance — Funds ready to withdraw
On Hold — Pending verification or review
Pending Payouts — Payout requests currently being processed
Before an affiliate can request their first payout, they need to complete two things:
1. Identity Verification (KYC)
Creem uses Sumsub for identity verification. This requires a government-issued ID and a selfie. Verification typically completes within 24 hours.
2. Payout Method Setup
Affiliates can choose between:
Bank Transfer via Paysway
Cryptocurrency (USDC) via Mural
Once verified, they can request payouts directly from the dashboard. Processing typically takes 3–5 business days after the request is submitted.

Step 8: Test Before You Go Live
Before inviting affiliates, run a quick test to make sure everything is working end-to-end.
- Open your affiliate referral link
- Visit your website through it
- Complete a test purchase
- Check your dashboard
You should see the conversion reflected in your stats. Check from the affiliate side too — their revenue and conversion data should update.
It takes five minutes and saves you headaches later.
Step 9: Program Defaults to Know
A couple of things worth knowing before you go live:
Programs require manual approval by default. New affiliates who try to join won't get in automatically — you'll need to approve them. This is actually a good thing early on; it lets you vet who's promoting your product.
Programs are private by default. Affiliates can only join if you invite them directly. If you want to open it up so anyone can apply, you can change this in your program settings.
A Few Limitations to Keep in Mind
Creem's affiliate program is excellent for early-stage founders, but there are a couple of things to be aware of:
Per-affiliate commission customization — Currently, the commission rate applies across all affiliates in a program. You can't set a different rate for individual affiliates yet. For most early-stage founders, this isn't a problem — one rate keeps things simple. But as you scale and bring on higher-value partners, having per-affiliate rate control would be a valuable addition. This feels like a natural next step for Creem to add.
Product-level affiliate restrictions — Right now, there's limited control over which specific products an affiliate can promote. Again, not an issue when you're starting out, but worth knowing. Custom per-product affiliate rules would make this platform even more powerful for larger catalogs.
For most indie founders and early SaaS teams, these limitations won't slow you down. The simplicity is actually the point — you don't need complexity in the beginning. You need distribution.
That said, these are minor limitations — both are straightforward features Creem could easily ship. No-brainer additions for a future update.
