How's 2-in-1 support for Linux these days?

I've been considering trading in my desktop for a laptop due to some preference changes.

I don't currently have a laptop to test with - how's 2-in-1 support? Mostly asking about screen rotation and keyboard and trackpad being disabled. I know pens are generally supported well.

Is it also locked to a specific DE if it does with? I currently use XFCE+i3 and am willing to jank my way through it but if I have to use something like gnome for 2-in-1 support I could suffer through it.

Preferred distro is Fedora if that makes a difference.
