I'm sorry if this is the wrong sub for a question like this.
I am a developer but I only have one computer, so my development machine doubles as my personal machine.
On a development machine, I have to install a lot of untrusted software (especially NodeJS modules) and "be productive". I would prefer to have no really sensitive data on a machine I use like that. But it's not possible in my case, and having all my personal data exposed doesn't sit well with me (encrypted or not, at some point it becomes decrypted).
So what is your preferred workflow for a situation like this? These are my thoughts so far below.
