OpenAI Launches $100 ChatGPT Pro Plan for Codex Users

OpenAI has introduced a new $100 per month ChatGPT Pro plan designed for developers who use Codex for coding tasks. The update makes advanced tools more accessible while keeping a higher tier for users with heavier workloads.



OpenAI earlier offered ChatGPT Pro at $200 per month. Now, the company has added a lower priced option to support users who need more than the $20 ChatGPT Plus plan but do not require the highest limits.




The new $100 plan focuses on Codex usage and gives developers more flexibility. It includes five times higher usage limits compared to ChatGPT Plus. Users also get access to all Pro features, including advanced models and unlimited access to Instant and Thinking models.





OpenAI said, “To celebrate the launch, we’re increasing Codex usage for a limited time through May 31st so that Pro $100 subscribers get up to 10x usage of ChatGPT Plus on Codex to build your most ambitious ideas.”




OpenAI now offers two versions of ChatGPT Pro with the same core features but different usage levels.



OpenAI explained, “Both Pro plans include the same core capabilities. The main difference is usage allowance: Pro $100 unlocks 5x higher usage than Plus, while Pro $200 unlocks 20x usage than Plus.”



The $100 plan targets regular developers working on consistent projects. The $200 plan supports users running demanding workflows across multiple projects at the same time.



Growing demand for Codex tools



OpenAI shared that Codex continues to grow quickly among developers. The tool now has more than 3 million weekly users. Usage has increased five times in the past three months, with strong month over month growth.



This expansion shows rising demand for AI powered coding tools. By adding a mid tier Pro plan, OpenAI aims to serve a wider group of users who want advanced capabilities without paying the highest price.
